Iowa sophomore receiver Dominique Douglass, of Detroit Murray-Wright, was suspended yesterday along with teammate Anthony Bowman of Orchard Lake St. Mary’s on charges of unauthorized use of a credit card.

The DesMoines Register, among other news sources, has reported that both players have been suspended indefinitely by head coach Kirk Ferentz pending results of this investigation.

Douglas was a projected starter and the Iowa coaching staff was looking for him to take a more active role. Last year, Douglas caught 49 passes last season for 654 yards and two touchdowns, second nationally among freshman wideouts.

Bowman was a backup wide receiver.

In other news, Michigan picked up commitment No. 14 last night as McKees Rock (Pa.) linebacker Christian Wilson, long considered a Michigan lead, pledged his services to the Wolverines.

Wilson, a 6-2, 220-pounder, is a four-star recruit according to both Rivals.com and Scout.com and joins New Jersey’s Marcus Witherspoon as linebacker recruits in U-M’s Class of 2008.
