In a game of particular interest to Wayne State (the Warriors play at St. Joseph’s next week and at Grand Valley State on Sept. 29), GVSU posted four touchdowns in the first half in this nonconference game and rolled to a 42-14 win.
The game can be seen tape-delayed this Tuesday at 7 p.m. on Comcast Local.
Warren De La Salle alum Jimmy Berezik led the Lakers in rushing – 11 carries, 82 yards, impressive for his first game – and scored his first collegiate touchdown on an 8-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Brad Iciek has the reins at quarterback for the Lakers, taking over after Cullen Finnerty’s four-year reign.
Preseason D-II All-American quarterback Anthony Lindsey was held to just 159 yards for the Pumas on 24-of-37 passing.
